Hi, everyone! This will be the last saga of my Kashmir solo trip. Today, let me take you to the beautiful Pangong Lake aka Pangong Tso, Ladakh 😊 ❤️ ✨
So, at first, I doubted whether I should visit Pangong Lake or not, as it would add 1 day to the itinerary of my Kashmir solo trip, because there was only a lake and nothing to do.
It would be a 7-hour drive, and the tour company recommended staying overnight instead of making it a day trip.
But then I told myself that if I travel from far far away to Kashmir, I might as well visit Pangong Lake since I would be in Ladakh too.
So, after enjoying a traditional Ladakhi breakfast, I departed for Pangong Lake. Here I come ~ ~
Pangong Lake, the Natural Beauty in Ladakh
The photos that you see here are almost unedited. I visitted Pangong Lake, Ladakh in April 2026 and it looked like this.
Of course, my phone camera helped getting these photos and colour, hehe… I used Xiaomi 15T Pro, with Leica cameras 📸
The road trip from Leh to Pangong Lake wasn’t that challenging; it was mostly very smooth. However, I had altitude sickness – dizzy, short of breath, and sluggish…
But I was determined that I had to visit Pangong Lake no matter what, since I wouldn’t visit Kashmir twice 😤
Be it midday or afternoon, the sun shone super bright and the breeze was freezing.
Pangong Lake was very long; Ghulam stopped a few times and helped me take some photos from different places.
There were almost no shops, cafes, or restaurants in the nearby area. We had a very late lunch (around 2:30pm) at a very small shop that served only 2 dishes: instant noodles and fried rice.
Afterward, Ghulam asked me if I wanted to take more photos, but I was too dizzy and nauseous, so I told him to just drive to the hotel.

The Pangong Resort, a Beautiful and Comfortable Deluxe Accommodation Near Pangong Lake
At first, my tour company arranged deluxe camping for me to stay overnight by Pangong Lake.
But then the manager said that they had arranged a better accommodation for me at The Pangong Resort. Yaaay!
The chalets at The Pangong Resort looked simple on the outside. However, it was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bed and furniture were new, and it was very clean.
The most important thing, it had:
- Electric warm blanket
- Electric warm the bed
- Water heater, kettle, small table and chairs
In addition, the staff was very kind, he let me use his hotspot (I had roaming but once you depart from Srinagar, there’ll be no signal) 🙏 🙏 🙏
To be honest, once I reached the accommodation, I didn’t bother to see Pangong Lake although it was right in front of me, because I’d had enough photos.
I was too dizzy and frozen, I just wanted to rest in the chalet. I even took a nap for a few hours until dinner.
The dinner at The Pangong Resort was ok, there were plenty of choices and the food tasted good. I met other guests, but I just wanted to finish my dinner and return to my chalet to sleep.
Yup, it was that bad (my condition).
Back in my chalet, I thought I was going to die because it was super cold. I wore layers of long johns + winter jacket + winter socks, but I was still freezing.
Well, it was my bad coz I didn’t want to use the electric blanket… I was lazy coz it was very heavy.
Then, suddenly, Irfan, one of the tour company’s staff who also stayed at The Pangong Resort, knocked on my door.
He found out that I didn’t have a heater in my room, so he brought me one. OMG, thank you very much, Irfan!! 😭 😭 🙏 🙏
Although there was no electricity after around 11pm, that heater was still a blessing.
As I slowly fell asleep in the freezing night, I repeatedly told myself that I would survive, I would be OK as I wouldn’t come to Kashmir again… 😴 😴 😴
Luckily, I felt so much better when I woke up the next day. My apetite returned and I had more energy to talk to other guests.
There were two Indian ladies, best friends, who had been living in America for many years. They started travelling after retiring, because they had family when they were young.
And then, there was a woman with her son who, at first, I thought they were siblings coz she looked younger than her age.
We talked for a while and departed. I returned to Leh and stayed for one night, doing nothing, before flying home the next day.
Thank you, Kashmir, it was a wonderful and memorable solo trip! By the way, if you plan to visit Kashmir or Ladakh one day, I still highly recommend Pangong Lake 😊 😊 😊
