Khantoke Dinner vs Khao Soi, Which Northern Thai Food Do You Prefer?

I haven’t been to Bangkok but I’ve been to the Northern parts of Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. During the trip, I had two memorable dining experience: Khantoke Dinner and Cultural Show & Khao Soi. As I thought to skip updating the blog, suddenly I was (and still) craving for Khao Soi, thus the inspiration for this week’s blog post, hehe! :p Khantoke Dinner and Cultural Show in Chiang Mai As most of us know, a trip to Thailand is incomplete without food hunting. The street food is delicious, however, don’t shy away from traditional, cultural dining experience when you visit Chiang Mai. Khantoke Dinner allows you to sample…

Stay at Home Virtual Tour: Cuban Casa (Homestay)

Although the MCO (Movement Control Order) in Malaysia is less strict now, I’m still staying at home most of the time. I’ve no idea what to write until #stayathome itself becomes the inspiration! This week, let me take you for a virtual tour in Cuba! I’ll show you how staying in local casa (house) or homestay will make your trip more memorable. I stayed in Cuba for 15 days. It’s a pretty long holiday because I didn’t want to go there just for Havana. I wanted to know more about the history and culture. I wanted to see other cities too. I guess you’d do the same when you have…

The Day I Gatecrashed a Graduation Party in Turkey

Turkey was my first overseas solo trip in 2014 and I had so much fun. I never thought that on the first night I would gatecrash a graduation party! But before we go to that, I want to make a declaration. Turkish people are very warm and friendly! In fact, if you’re small like me, you may get quite a lot of attention – be it from men or women. And then, they will ask you to take photos together! I’m not sure why. Perhaps they fancy petite girls? Or feel tall when standing beside me? Hehe! Ok, back to the story of me being a gatecrasher. It was the…

Earth Day, Bees and Mirabell Gardens

Happy belated Earth Day 2020! Sorry for the late blog post, I was busy preparing for something important and not feeling well… but! I’m so happy that Google made Earth Day, which falls on 22 April, educated and FUN! Also, the Earth Day Doodle game reminds me of the beautiful Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg, Austria. Google’s Earth Day 2020 Doodle Bee Game In case you were too busy WFH yesterday and didn’t open Google at all, you’re missing going to enjoy the Bee game now that you’re free. I thought we could only play the game yesterday, but I did it again today, hehe! Basically, we’re helping a cute honeybee…

Happy Easter from Hill of Crosses, Lithuania

Happy Easter to my Catholic and Christian friends! I wish I could say it from Hill of Crosses, Lithuania, but I’m staying at home. I hope you’re practising the social distancing too 🙂 Hill of Crosses is a pilgrimage site in northern Lithuania. As you can see from my cover photo, there are hundreds of thousands of crosses, rosaries and other religious-related things on the hills (Wikipedia says there are 100,000 crosses in 2006). Cinque Terre, a Walk to Remember in Italy

COVID-19, be gone! It took me some time to get inspiration for what to write about this week’s blog post. I miss walking outside so much thus I decided to write about my one-day adventure in Cinque Terre, Italy. It was a very long walk and tiring, yet made me so happy. Oh, how I wish to experience it again, especially at times like this! Cinque Terre is the postcard image of colourful buildings on top of a cliff with a beautiful blue sea that some of you may have seen in Google. The must-visit destination in Italy is located in the rugged Italian Riviera coastline and consists of five…

Палкинъ – Palkin, Where You Can Find the Best Beef Stroganoff in St. Petersburg

The Coronavirus quarantine really makes me miss travelling. Hence, my past travel photos come to the rescue! The further the country is, the better it is mending my travel bug bites. Some foods are better eaten on the spot than to be delivered, really… this inspired me to write about Палкинъ (Palkin), an amazing restaurant in St. Petersburg, Russia, where you can find the best beef stroganoff. Beef stroganoff is one of Russian traditional dishes, made of strips of beef and mushroom in a creamy sauce. The dish is served with potato, rice or noodles. If you’re a fan of carbonara or creamy dishes, it’s a must-try when in Russia!…

    A Stranger in Moscow

A rainy day reminded me of Moscow back in 2018 and one of my favourite Michael Jackson’s songs, “Stranger in Moscow”. After the 4-hour bullet train ride from St.Petersburg to Moscow, my tour group was welcomed by a heavy storm and 4ºC weather. However, the weather didn’t stop us to explore the city, especially the Red Square thus we continued with the walking tour #dedication During the tour, the song “Stranger in Moscow” kept playing in my head. I feel it’s beautiful and emotional… although up until now I don’t remember the lyrics. One thing I knew, I was cold! Even when it was raining heavily and the wind pierced…
