Hello, friends! This week, I feel like sharing with you my express, one-day trip in Geneva. I didn’t explore the city much, but I enjoyed the slow pace. I went to Geneva during the summer of 2023. It was blazing hot and in some areas, the roads were completely empty like a ghost town. Maybe people opted to have a siesta to avoid the heat, hehe! I joined a group rail tour from Amsterdam to Barcelona, and we stopped in Geneva for one day. Since it was only for a day, I didn’t have a to-do list or must-visit restaurants. But one thing was for sure, I wanted to visit…

Sampan Ride in Tam Coc River, Vietnam
Happy August, friends! We’re entering the 8th month of the year. How’s 2023 for you so far? 😉 This week, I’ll take you for a sampan ride in Tam Coc River, Vietnam. Sampan is a small boat with a flat bottom that is commonly used in Asia. Think about the small boats that you see in Bangkok’s floating market. If it doesn’t ring a bell, I’ll show you what sampan looks like soon, hehe! If you’ve been following my blog, you may remember that I love the sea and everything related to it – underwater restaurants, cruise holidays, island-hopping, and of course, sampan rides! Whenever I look at the sea,…

On Relationships: The Dormmamu Loop and Abundance Mindset
Hello, friends! This week, I want to rant. No, just kidding 😂 I recently stop seeing someone and want to share my thoughts. Perhaps some of you are struggling with relationships, who knows this article somewhat relates to you… I won’t mention his name or go into details to protect his privacy. After all, I like him and wish him well, though we don’t end up together. We can like someone but be incompatible. Life happens. Okay… I’ll start by sharing some of my “HAA??😦” moments. There were times when I literally went “HAA??😦” inside when we were together. I don’t know how to explain them to you, so I’ll…

Soweto Day Trip, Mandela House and more in South Africa
Hallo, hallo everyone! This week, let me take you back to South Africa for a Soweto day trip, including Nelson Mandela’s house. When it comes to South Africa, people think of safari, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Pretoria. However, Soweto, a township in Gauteng, Johannesburg is not to be missed. I extended one day so I could join this Soweto day trip where I could: So, this day trip was more about a history and culture trip. Yes, it’s a small group tour. But I like joining a group tour when visitting a destination for the first time, so I can understand the story behind what I see 😊 Visitting Nelson…

Vietnam Day Trip: Tam Chuc Pagoda
Hi, friends! I hope you’re doing well so far, it’s already the middle of the month 😁 This week, I’ll take you for a day trip to Vietnam to see Tam Chuc Pagoda, one of the largest pagodas in the world. Prepare your walking shoes, jacket, and hat for the long walk! I went to see this famous Buddhist temple with my mom and sister. One of the perks of joining a group tour is you can visit far far away places without having to worry about transportation. According to Google, it takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hanoi to Tam Chuc Pagoda. It was a wonderful day…

Amsterdam: Van Gogh Museum, Canal Cruise & Red Light District
Whenever spring comes, I always think of tulips. But I don’t know why, I don’t have the desire to go to Amsterdam to see the tulips bloom… maybe not yet 😅 So, this week, let me take you to Van Gogh Museum and stroll Amsterdam. We’ll board on a cruise twice and visit the famous red light district too! I went to Amsterdam twice on separate tours, just because the itinerary includes the city. Even so, I haven’t finished enjoying everything the city offers. If I ever go to Amsterdam again, I’d love to visit Gieethoorn 🌷⛵💖 Okay, so, on my first trip, I explored Amsterdam and the famous red…

Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Bich Dong Pagoda & Obama’s Bun Cha
Hello, everyone! This week, let me take you to other parts of Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Bich Dong Pagoda, and the famous Obama’s bun cha! Well, no, Obama doesn’t own a bun cha restaurant… I said that because it was the place where Obama and the late Anthony Bourdain ate bun cha together when they were in Hanoi 😁😁😁 Okay, let’s start with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum! Travel to Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum What’s so special about this place? As the name suggests, it’s the burial chamber of the late Ho Chi Minh, the revolutionary and ex-president of Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh or Uncle Ho was a…

Hanoi Trip: Bánh Mì, Café Dinh Egg Coffee, Train Street, Sen Tây Hồ Buffet
This week, let me take you on a food tour in Hanoi! We’ll be sampling the famous bánh mì (Vietnamese-style baguette), Café Dinh’s egg coffee, and visitting the train street + a popular buffet restaurant, Sen Tây Hồ 😋 I had one last good brunch on Era Cruises before the tour group departed for Hanoi. It was good weather for a Hanoi trip, not too sunny or cloudy. There was a small boat that transferred us back to the cruise port. From Halong Bay, we took the express highway and reached Hanoi in just two hours. Else, it would take four hours! On the way to Hanoi, we stopped in a…
