Hi guys! This time, I’ll take you for a relaxing 3D2N stay at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, Egypt. This isn’t a paid post, I’ll give you an honest review for your Red Sea holiday reference π
OK, first of all, I have to burst your bubble early before you get your hopes high. I was excited about the idea of staying at a resort by the Red Sea in Hurghada, Egypt.
I mean, it’s the RED SEA! The sea that Moses parted into two when Pharaoh and his army chased after him and the crowd!! π€© π€© π€©
But after I confirmed it with Veronica (the tour leader), apparently, the Red Sea resort area that I stayed at wasn’t the location where the miracle happened π₯² π₯² π₯²
So, after I googled, the Red Sea location where Moses performed the miracle was never confirmed. Possible locations are:
- Nuweiba Beach (Gulf of Aqaba)
- Northern Gulf of Suez
- Lake Timsah / Sirbonis Lake
I was a bit disappointed, but it was okay. After waking up early for so many days, I couldn’t wait to laze around the resort and wake up late the next day.

My sister, friends, and I had googled about this Hurghada resort before we arrived. The tour company upgraded us to this resort, and the photos online looked amazing.
Woow, we’re going to stay at a luxury resort!! π π π
After a 4-hour bus ride, we finally reached Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay at around 7pm. The night was chilly and all of us were tired. But we got excited when we saw the amazing lobby!
Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay Review: The Welcome Drink, Room, and Resort Design

While waiting for Veronica to settle the check-in, we admired the grand lobby and its Christmas decorations. Oh, there was a small stall that served welcome drinks!
I chose hot chocolate while my sister chose mulled wine. Hot chocolate on a chilly night – perfect!
But that was when the luxury Hurghada resort fantasy started to fade.

The hot chocolate tasted like hot chocolate milk and it was… just okay. The mulled wine? My sister didn’t like it. Neither of us finished our welcome drinks.
But we brushed it off, thinking that since we were in Egypt, hot chocolate might not be their specialty or the local wine just didn’t suit our taste.
It took some time to finish the check-in, so Veronica asked us to choose our three-course menu for our Italian dinner tomorrow.
Our local tour guide, Ahmed, had booked a table for all of us at an Italian restaurant in the resort.
He said the Italian restaurant at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, was the most popular, so he booked it far in advance.
Thank you, Ahmed!
There were so many things to choose from! We could choose:
- Starter (salad, soup, or pasta)
- Main dish (pizza, chicken, fish, or beef)

My sister and I chose different options so we could try more foods. All of us really looked forward to tomorrow’s dinner β¨β¨β¨
The rooms at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, weren’t located in one building. This resort had around 20-40 3-storey buildings.
I had to walk a bit to reach my room from the main resort building. But I liked it! At least I could walk more after lazing all day in the resort, hehe…

Although Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, may not be as luxurious as the resort claimed, I liked the overall design concept.
The design, interior design, garden, pools, activities, beach area, and hospitality were nice. I’ll share more about the food later.
My room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. I could tell that the room service team mopped the floor properly. When I walked around the room barefoot, my soles didn’t turn black π π π

The best part?
The single bed was bigger than normal (I let my sister slept on the double bed) and it was comfortable! At last, I could sleep well without setting a very early morning alarm for two nights… π π π

Buffet Dinner and Exploring Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, at Night

Alright, for your information, Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, is an all-inclusive resort. However, some foods, drinks, and activities require extra payment.
For buffet, there’s a big main dining hall at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, that served an international buffet.
After freshening up a bit in the room, my sister and I grabbed our jackets and went for dinner.
There were many guests from around the world in the main dining hall, but it wasn’t cramped. The space between tables was good, and there were many choices of food and drink.

However, the taste… The resort used fresh and good quality ingredients, but personally (and based on other group tour members’ feedback), I felt the food was… edible.
I took a little bit of almost everything, and that was my verdict. I even found the local tea bags served at this resort weren’t my cup of tea.
Luckily, I brought my own tea bags and some from the previous hotels, hehe! Double luck, there was an ice cream stall (with extra pay) and a minimarket that sold snacks.

We got ourselves ice cream because we weren’t satisfied with the buffet dinner. It was the best decision π
Afterward, we walked around for a bit, then returned to our room. I was so happy that I could take a hot shower without rushing, apply a face mask, and make myself a nice cup of tea before I sleep.
And I didn’t set an alarm to wake up. Yaaay!! π π π

Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada: The Pools, Beach, Lunch, and Lounge

I skipped breakfast because I woke up late and didn’t feel like eating. After yesterday’s dinner experience, I wasn’t in the mood to eat at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada.
We decided to have our late breakfast in the lounge area.
Since my sister and I brought our own tumblers, we made our own coffee and tea, bought Cheetos from the minimarket, and browsed the internet in the lounge.
There was a coffee machine in the lounge, but according to my sister, the only nice thing was the mocha π

Afterward, we walked around the resort and went to the beach area.
There was a restaurant near the beach, Cuba Beach Bar, that served hot dogs, nuggets, and pizzas for brunch.
But the foods were another disappointment. I meant, usually frozen foods taste OK, right? Moreover, they’re making fresh, wood-fired pizzas.

Clara, how disappointing it could be?
Well, a kid who queued in front of me for pizza said this to the cook:
Boy: “I want a pizza without cheese and pepperoni.”
Cook: “Pizza with nothing? So, just the bread???”
Boy: “Yes.”
Cook: “Where are you from?”
Boy: “Italy.”
Me: π€£ π€£ π€£ (LOL in my heart)
Afterward, we had a buffet lunch at an Arabian restaurant. We only ate a little bit, the food was okay.

Then, we headed to Tortuga Beach Restaurant near the beach to try Mexican food.
Again, it was the same thing – fresh and good quality ingredients, but the taste… A few tasted okay, though.
I took this opportunity to eat more fish dishes, vegetables, and fruits. Afterward, we returned to our room, browsed the internet, and took a nap.

Italian Dinner at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada

Alright, remember when I suggested you choose seafood and chicken over beef when in Egypt? It was the same case when you plan to stay at Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada.
The Italian restaurant was fully booked, so we had to wait for around 1 hour past our booking time to finally be seated.
Some elderly couples in the group tour were unhappy about it because they were hungry. But what could we do?

I chose onion soup and the fish of the day. Since my sister only wanted the main dish (she chose pizza), she asked if I wanted to order another starter for myself.
So, I ordered melanzana (something like eggplant lasagna) – and it turned out to be the best dish at the resort!
Again, same feedback about the food from the group tour… The beef was either too dry or still red when cut.
A Singaporean woman in my group who works as a cook: “Food is bad, service is bad…” π
However, my onion soup and grilled fish were good – it wasn’t Dory, but a better type of fish and grilled well. And the melanzana was really nice! It was similar to the one that I had in Southern Italy.

As usual, my sister and I went for MΓΆvenpick ice cream after dinner to lift our mood, walked around for a bit, then returned to our room.
Alright, guys! I hope this hotel review helps. Hurghada is usually an optional experience; you can skip it if you plan to travel to Egypt.
Although the food wasn’t to my liking, what I liked most was that I could restore my energy and relax after a few days of a hectic schedule and early morning departures.
Thank you for reading my blog post! I hope the war ends soon so you can visit Egypt this year π π π
Conclusion: Sentido Caribbean Soma Bay, Hurghada, is beautiful and comfortable. This resort is especially suitable for families with children thanks to its various activities and kids’ pool; also for people who just want to relax by the beach and don’t care much about food.
