I may have had only 1 short day to explore Vienna, Austria back in 2015. But what makes the town memorable is the unique dinner experience at Marchfelderhof.
I’m not exaggerating the blog’s title when I said this restaurant is “magical” and a “must-visit”, soon you’ll know why.
Located in the romantic countryside, the warm and cozy Marchfelderhof has opened its doors since the Napoleon I era and was is a locals’ culinary tip that attracts big names, from kings, celebrities, and politicians, to nobility from all over the world.
We’re talking about really, really BIG shots here such as King Constantine of Greece, King Faruk of Egypt and Liz Taylor. Alright, enough of the introduction… Now, let me show you the magic of Marchfelderhof!
Walking inside the restaurant will give you a strange feeling of walking in a labyrinth. Every corner is chaotic, interesting and charming β should I go to the left? Or right? That explains why the video above is almost 9 minutes π
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you could feel the excitement of enjoying your meal in a magical restaurant, with violins, teapots, and other objects “fly” above you.
Oh, did you see the black & white photos at the Marchfelderhof’s “Hall of Fame” corner in the video? Maybe they’ll move, just like in a wizarding world!
You can see my tour group in the video (7:02). It’s quite large and very diverse, in terms of age and nationality. Since our group was large, we were seated quite far away from the entrance.
After rewatching the video, I don’t know how I could memorize my way back to the correct dining room, haha… Luckily, I didn’t miss the dinner!
I feel happy whenever I see photos of my trips and get excited for the new year. I miss travelling so much, hopefully, all of us can have our “revenge travel” in 2022…
If you plan to go to Europe, especially Austria, do visit Marchfelderhof for its unique, magical dining experience! You can take a taxi or train from Vienna to the restaurant, and it will be around 30-40 minutes journey.
I hope you enjoy this blog post, have a great week! π
