I thought I had my life back. I went to the gym regularly, started to adapt to the new office, planned my next revenge trips then BOOM! CMCO is back.
If you’re living in Malaysia, I’m sure you feel the same. So, in this week’s blog post, I’m gonna share with you what calms me down and makes me happy.
Here are my CMCO essentials:
The CMCO Playlist to Destress – Putumayo
My #1 playlist that I recommend to destress when drinking or taking a break is Putumayo.
If you love travelling, this playlist will take you around the world with its world music, living up to the tagline “Celebrate the World”. From Brazil to Cuba to France to Italy to Arab to India… you don’t need to travel to enjoy the best music from around the world.
I fell in love instantly when I heard their songs played in a CD store, many years ago. I think… I was around 10 years old. I didn’t understand a single word but the songs are very catchy and easy on the ears.
Some of my favourite Putumayo playlists to destress during the CMCO are:
- Putumayo Presents: Brazilian Lounge
- Putumayo Presents: Swing Around the World
- Putumayo Presents: World Groove (or just type it on YouTube to find the list)
- Putumayo Presents: Cover the World (or just type it on YouTube to find the list)
Actually, Putumayo songs are best listened to through good speakers or headphones. If you do have, perhaps get the original CD? You can get them online here.

The CMCO Snack – Mercato’s Caramel Popcorn
Yes, I want to give Mercato’s caramel popcorn a shout-out.
This is not your regular supermarket popcorn, this is Mercato’s popcorn.
I swear that you’ll get addicted and the family bucket will finish in just a few days – by you, alone 😉
What’s so good about their cheap, less than RM5 popcorn, packed in a transparent plastic bucket?
I accidentally passed by when the staff was making it. I saw that he’s using premium caramel and butter. The popcorn doesn’t taste too sweet, the caramel is just right aaand…. oh boy, the butter!!
The best thing is, there won’t be any sugary taste in your mouth after you eat it. Perfecto!!!
By the way, I’m not sure if every Mercato branch is selling the caramel popcorn. I got it from the Plaza Damas branch. Sooo…. if you can travel there during the CMCO, go get them!

The CMCO Travel Movie – Unpregnant
Don’t judge a movie by its title.
You may think that “Unpregnant” is a pro-abortion movie, but actually, it’s more like a road trip and friendship movie.
We’re gonna stay at home a lot for two weeks during the CMCO (hopefully no extension), so what’s better than a dreamy, US road trip movie?
This comedy movie tells about ex-best friends, Veronica Clarke (played by Haley Lu Richardson) and Bailey Butler (played by Barbie Ferreira) who went on a road trip from Missouri to Albuquerque because Veronica wants to get an abortion.
Rather than focusing on abortion, you’ll be entertained with beautiful scenery, the cool Pontiac Trans Am, boyfriend’s red flag, family ties and true friendship.
Alright, amigos! That’s my CMCO essentials list. I hope you enjoy the music, snack and movie that I recommend.
But hey, um, I also need your recommendation. Please leave a comment so I can have more varieties during the CMCO. Thank you, stay healthy everyone 🙂
