When I was in primary school, I wanted to go to Paris and became a fashion designer. But then I realised that I didn’t have the talent to be one.
Nevertheless, Paris was always my dream destination until I realised the trip at 31 years old. Apparently, the childhood dream was never buried but postponed.
Me and the tour group arrived in Paris on 13 July 2022 by train. After we dropped our luggages at the hotel, we went to a fancy restaurant for included lunch.
I never thought that the budget tour operator, Expat Explore, would take us to such a nice place!
Cafe Louise didn’t only have a beautiful and elegant interior design but it had a very delicious beef dish! When writing this article, I don’t see the dish that we had in its online menu, perhaps that dish was only served for the tour group.
However, since I’ve tried it, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed with the beef dishes. Oh, remember to add two scoops of ice cream as dessert!
People say a way to a man’s heart is through his belly. Well, Paris had me at first lunch!π
Playing Models in Paris
I always bring my DSLR when travelling because I love to capture my travel moments and need good quality photos for my blog.
I know that not everyone knows how to use it or has a good sense of photography but I always take the chance. Usually, I will ask the tour leader or someone from my travel group to help me take my photos.
For the summer 2022 holiday, I was lucky that Gareth, an Irish guy in my group and the founder of Reforest Nation, was good at photography. Yaaaay!! ππ
As you’ve guessed, both of us took turns playing models in Paris (and the rest of the tour).
I wondered why Gareth was very photogenic and natural in front of the camera.
It turned out that not only this guy was a passionate environmentalist but he also sometimes becomes a model for his friends’ businesses.
The lighting in Cafe Louise was too dim and yellowish, so I made the photos black and white. I feel they look more classy than full colour. What do you think?

Paris Day Trip, Sainte Chapelle, and Eiffel Tower
After the lunch, we had a short walking tour around Paris.
We passed by some familiar cafes (thanks to “Emily in Paris”), saw beautiful buildings, viewed Notre Dame from afar, went into the beautiful Sainte Chapelle, and admired the Eiffel Tower from afar.

It was a very hot day in Paris… I guess it was around 38 degrees celsius! At that time, I no longer cared if I got beautiful shots with the Eiffel Tower.
I just wanted to have a few mandatory shots with the famous building, gave it a quick kiss, then au revoir! Bye! Time to go under the shade!
And for me, not long after, I called a taxi to go to Hotel Le Bristol for my special dining experience at Epicure β a 3 Michelin star restaurant.
Paris, you’re beautiful. Although I only stayed in this city for two days I have memorable moments. Until we meet again, maybe one day. I haven’t visitted Versailles!
