Spending most of my time at home affects my mood and creativity. While looking at my travel photo album searching for inspiration, the memories of Rockbar and the luxury spa at AYANA Resort & Spa, Bali made me happy.
Why? The top two reasons are:
- In 2015, Malaysian Ringgit was 3.7x stronger than Indonesian Rupiah
- I had no financial problems and spent as I like on the Bali trip (mostly on experiences, not accommodation)
The situation back then is very in contrast with what’s happening today!
Now, Ringgit is 3x stronger than Rupiah. I’m worried about my personal finance after the salary cut.
I’m counting the days until the end of August, crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to travel abroad (I’ve paid for the trip in full).

Obviously, I didn’t stay at the resort but I took a full body massage package.
By doing so, I could pamper myself and saw with my own eyes the beauty of a 5-star resort in Bali.
I remembered paying 1 million Rupiah+ (RM300+) for Rock My Body, the lowest price I could find on the spa & massage list. Sounds too much?
Not anymore when you get a complimentary entrance to the Rock Bar plus one drink!!!

Enjoy the Stunning View of Jimbaran Sunset at Rock Bar, Bali
If you prefer an exclusive, private place to enjoy your drink and Jimbaran sunset, you’ll never go wrong with Rock Bar.
It’s part of AYANA Resort and Spa, you just need to walk a little bit and take a glass elevator down the cliff.
Most people will come before or around 5pm so they can get the best seat and enjoy the Jimbaran sunset. Bear in mind that there’s only ONE elevator and it’s small – so, come early!
When you read reviews about the Rock Bar, the most prominent photo which usually becomes the cover photo is a bar on top of a cliff.
If you can’t get the ‘prime’ spot, don’t worry! I personally like the spot that I had. My table was somewhere on a cliff, surrounded by natural rocks. It’s not huge but I got my own, private space.
So, there you go! A place to pamper yourself after the pandemic – AYANA Resort and Spa, Bali! Remember to bring your credit card or extra cash in case you want to drink more at Rock Bar 😉
